'12th Fail' director Vidhu Vinod Chopra: 'Gifted Amitabh Bachchan a Rs 4.5 crore Rolls Royce because he tolerated me'

The filmmaker recalled working with Bachchan on their 2007 collaboration 'Eklavya: The Royal Guard' and how he gifted him the swanky car

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra is fresh off the success of his film 12th Fail starring Vikrant Massey. In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, the filmmaker recalled working with Bachchan on their 2007 collaboration Eklavya: The Royal Guard and how he gifted him a Rolls Royce worth Rs 4.5 crore.

Chopra revealed, “When we were making Eklavya, Amitabh Bachchan came to the sets with one suitcase for a schedule of two months. I asked, ‘Amit, you travel very light?’ He said, ‘No, Jaya told me ‘more than one week you cannot stand Vinod.”

He added, “Because he did not leave and completed the whole film, I gifted him a Rolls Royce worth Rs 4.5 crore, because he tolerated me and did a great work in the film.”
