WHAT’S THE STORY?
Coat was founded in 2020 by friends Rob Abrahams and Rob Green after they noticed a lack of environmentally friendly paint options on the market.

WHY SHOULD I BUY?
Owing to its chemical content paint isn’t accepted at many UK recycling centres, so around 98 per cent of paint waste – 55 million litres each year – goes to landfill, while 14,000 tonnes of paint tins are also thrown away because of their non-recyclable materials.

WHY SHOULDN’T I BUY?
Apart from the higher price tag compared to other high-street paint brands, there isn’t one. It is colour with a conscience.
THE EXTRA MILE
Coat is the first climate-positive paint company in the world, which means it offsets any unavoidable emissions, such as transporting paint by road, by contributing double the amount of money to UN Gold Standard environmental projects.
Tins are also delivered straight to your door by electric bike and, as part of a zero-waste policy, customers can return paint tins to be remade into new ones.
