Asian Games 2023: India win gold medal in men's 4×400 relay competition

The India men’s team comprising of Muhammed Anas, Amoj Jacob, Ajmal Muhammed and Rajesh clinched gold medal in the 4×400 relay competition at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou on Wednesday. The quartet recorded a timing of 3:01.58, finishing ahead of Qatar and Sri Lanka, who clinched silver and bronze medals respectively.
The Indian team had secured qualification to the final with a timing of 3:03.81, thereby beating Qatar, Japan and Iraq.
Earlier, the quartet of Vithya Ramraj, Aishwarya Mishra, Prachi and Subha Venkatesan claimed a silver in women’s 4x400m relay.

India are currently in fourth place as far as the medals standings are concerned. India have clinched a total of 81 medals in Hangzhou, their highest-ever haul in the Asian Games, that includes 18 gold, 31 silver and 32 bronze.
