Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley are creating a Beverly Hills-style home after returning to Britain from LA and snapping up an abandoned property for nearly £5million.
The celebrity couple are bringing a touch of Hollywood glamour to leafy Hampstead in north London where they count Harry Styles among their new neighbours.
Comedian Kielty, 52, and TV presenter Deeley, 46, paid £4.9million for the rundown 1950’s home which lay derelict after being unoccupied for a number of years.
They’ve been given the go-ahead to ‘renovate, extend and upgrade’ the five bedroom property and transform it into a haven of ‘modern day family living’.
It comes after the couple quit living in the US with sons Milo, six, and James, four, when Patrick and his eldest son narrowly avoided a public shooting at the Century City Mall in Los Angeles.

The couple were also keen for their boys to be schooled back home in the UK, and to be closer to family and friends.
After they bought the house, photos submitted as part of their planning application showed plaster peeling off the walls.
Bedrooms were described as being in a ‘very poor’ state while many of the finishes were described as being broken or torn out by previous owners.
The Grand Designs-style makeover will see their new ‘disjointed’ and ‘awkward’ dwelling turned into an ultra-modern dream home.
The house was built on a steep slope in ‘an inverted arrangement’ with living rooms on the upper floor and bedrooms at garden level.
The couple want to create a grand new entrance hall, demolish a living room mezzanine floor to create one big living area and extend the bedrooms and terrace by 4ft.
They also applied for permission to build an external staircase, roof-lights and a new car port, front garden and gate.
Once it’s finished there will also be a ‘nanny suite’, guest room, his and hers dressing rooms, a bar, snug and children’s play area while the existing garage will be converted into a boot room and office.
In a design statement, their architect said: ‘The proposed external appearance builds on the inherent character of the existing house but updates it into a contemporary dwelling both in use and character.
‘It is inspired by mid-twentieth design ranging from the designs of Alvar Aalto to houses of the west coast of America which are familiar to the clients who spent many years living there.
‘Materials have also been introduced that connect the clients to their previous home in LA and to places that have significant memories for them.
‘The design remodels a 1950 brick and concrete house with new and rear extensions, extensive internal alterations, adjustments to the blade roof form to bring natural light into the heart of the house.’
Previous planning applications by former owners proposed the demolition of the property and a new home built instead.

But the couple’s planning agent said: ‘The existing dwelling has some many positive qualities which the owners wish to build on and strengthen. There are other aspects of the existing house which need improving.
‘It has been unoccupied for many years and is in a poor state of repair. The internal layout of the house and split levels makes the house feel disjointed and awkward at times. It is very dark in the centre of the house on both floors.
‘The brief from the client is to improve the internal layout of the house which is currently very fragmented and non-functional, through some internal alterations.
‘The proposal is to keep the principal character and identity of the existing house, to renovate, extend and upgrade the fabric along with internal alterations to reflect modern day family living.’
The couple hope the new home will provide them with a base with Kielty starting a new job this month as host of the Late Late Show – Ireland’s flagship chat show broadcast on RTE.
Deeley, who was previously married to businessman Mark Whelan, met Kielty when they hosted BBC talent show Fame Academy in 2002 but it wasn’t until years later that they got together.
They went public with their relationship when they walked the red carpet together for Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards in 2011. They married in Rome in 2012 after a nine-month whirlwind romance.
After finding fame working alongside Ant and Dec in Saturday morning children’s programme SM:TV Live, Deeley moved to Los Angeles back in 2006 when she became the host of So You Think You Can Dance.
The couple went on to set up home together there before returning to the UK.
According to property website The Move Market, the couple’s home is now worth up to £6.54million with the proposed revamp.
The property was described by estate agents Savills as ‘discreetly positioned’ at the end of a private cul-de-sac next to Hampstead Heath, offering ‘exclusivity and tranquility’.
In February, the couple were pictured on a rare date at the nearby celebrity favourite pub The Spaniards Inn where As It Was singer Harry Styles celebrated his 20th birthday.

Officials at Barnet Council gave their renovation plans the go-ahead after there were no objections from neighbours in the designated conservation area.
Planning officer Ashley Niman said: ‘The western half of the property has a spaciousness and clarity whilst the eastern part, with the entrance area, is incoherent and restricted.
‘The proposal seeks to provide a more ordered, rational, and cleaner layout with internal alterations and extensions at ground and first floors.
‘The proposal would not detrimentally impact on the qualities of the building and protect the historic and architectural character of this part of the conservation area.
‘The proposed alterations are such that, as conditioned, it preserves the amenities of the occupiers of neighbouring properties and the character of the individual property, street scene, conservation area and area of special character.’
