Tottenham Hotspur and Croatia star Ivan Perisic has been pictured on crutches after undergoing surgery for an ACL injury on Monday.
The winger travelled to Austria to go under the knife after suffering an injury to his right knee during non-contact training at Spurs last week.
Perisic came off the bench for Tottenham and played a vital role in the club’s comeback against Sheffield United two weeks ago, but it will be his last involvement for the club for a while.
The appearance from the bench was one of six for Ange Postecoglou‘s side this season, but it looks unlikely that he will make any further as he has now been pictured on crutches.
The Croatian took to Instagram to show him on crutches alongside his agent before Fabrizio Romano confirmed that it will take ‘five to six months’ for him to return from injury.

Perisic wrote: ‘A massive thank you to Dr. Fink and his colleagues for their hard work and dedication.
‘Getting back on my feet slowly but surely.’
Destiny Udogie has been the first choice at left-back under Postecoglou this season, with Perisic more comfortable in a wing-back role.
With back-up player Sergio Reguillon joining Manchester United on loan at the end of the transfer window, Ben Davies is the most likely option to compete for the spot with Udogie now.
Being 34 years of age and out of contract at Tottenham in the summer, it’s possible that Perisic has played his last game for the club he joined from Inter Milan last season.
With just 50 appearances under his belt, it remains to be seen as to whether the Croatia international will play any further matches for Spurs.
Best case scenario, Perisic will return in five months and be able to finish the season with Postecoglou’s side.
However, recovering from ACL injuries can be tricky and the winger could still face several setbacks.
For now, he will be taking it step by step and hoping to come back stronger when he is cleared for a return.
