Queen Letizia of Spain has given a speech at the United Nations in New York – from the comfort of her own office at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid.
The 51-year-old monarch recorded her speech to promote a World Health Organisation resolution for 2024 in favour of universal health coverage for people with rare diseases.
The mother-of-two was suited and booted in a £488 Boss co-ord, in a charming pink colourway.
She used the speech to highlight that it’s a ‘key moment’ where rare diseases are forming a greater part of the health agenda.

‘This is a propitious moment following on as it does from the progress represented by a number of declarations made within the United Nations, which are giving rare diseases a place on the health agenda, impacting in turn on decision-making,’ the monarch said.
‘This new step would result in specific actions in all the member countries of the United Nations.
‘The challenges presented by rare diseases are multi-faceted and each country has its own specific needs.
‘I am not going to remind you of what it means to have a rare disease, nor am I going to dwell on the fact that most of these diseases first appear in childhood.
‘I am not going to go into the high mortality rates, the difficulties experienced by adults living with a rare disease, the ordeal of obtaining a diagnosis, or the multiple disabilities, care dependency and loss of educational, social and professional opportunities that come with the appearance of a rare disease in our lives.
‘But I will tell you that a World Health Organization resolution would entail the necessary commitment from the member countries to share the actions that are already underway and lay down a firmer common path towards equity.
The Spanish royal smiled as she was pictured with Shabana Basij-Rasikh at the event in Madrid earlier this month
Queen Letizia, 50, looked stunning in a pink suit as she clapped for those who won awards
She appeared poised as she filmed in minimalist surroundings, with a white couch and plain walls visible in the background with a coral lampshade adding just a splash of colour.
The royal completed her flawless ensemble with a Boss pleated blouse, Isabel Abdo slingback pumps and diamond earrings from Gold & Roses.
She opted for glamorous makeup, incorporating a smoky eye and glossy nude lip, while her hair was styled in loose waves.
Since Letizia sported an identical look for the UNICEF Spain Awards earlier this month in Madrid, it is thought this segment was filmed on the same day.
During the award ceremony, the former journalist oozed confidence as she walked on stage with a beaming smile on her face.
She chatted to Shabana Basij-Rasikh, an Afghan educator, humanitarian and women’s rights champion.
The pair looked in high spirits, as they posed for several snaps and displayed a framed picture on stage.
