An ‘extremely caring’ young father loved by his local community died in a freak accident while washing his car at home.
Jake Bashford, 27, was washing his sedan at his home on Hall Street in Mount Morgan in Rockhampton, Queensland, on Sunday afternoon.
The vehicle then unexpectedly rolled forward, striking him before crashing into a fence.
The father-of-two was rushed to Mount Morgan Hospital where he later died.
Devastated friends have paid tribute following the shock news of his death.

‘Jake was one of the most happiest people in town was extremely caring for anyone, always was happy to stop and have a chat he will be very missed by a lot of people,’ one told Daily Mail Australia.
Another wrote online: ‘Such a good and decent man gone from his beautiful and loving family too soon,’ one wrote.
‘My condolences to Mum and bubs. Such a heartbreaking time and this sadness is deep.’
Another posted on Facebook: ‘Rip buddy. Your happy face will be missed. My deepest condolences go out to your family.’
‘Sending so much love to his family at this very sad time. His big smile, & wave & a chat will be very missed,’ another wrote.
Another person who hinted that they knew Mr Bashford paid tribute.

‘Only was around a week ago we had quick chat as we did. This is devastating news. Can’t believe it. Condolences to all your family at this time. So sad.’
Mr Bashford was a doting father who regularly posted photos of his children on his social media accounts.
In one photo the father-of-two could be seen posing with one of his children and smiling widely at the camera.
Another picture showed his smiling child playing in the water during a family trip to the beach.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
