At the 69th National Film Awards, Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress Award for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. She shared the award with Kriti Sanon who won the award for Mimi.

About the 69th National Film Awards
The winner list included names such as Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Allu Arjun and Karan Johar, among others. Bhatt was given the title of Best Actress for her stellar performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. The diva dropped a picture of receiving the honour from President Droupadi Murmu on social media. Alia Bhatt wrote on her official Instagram title, “A photo, a moment, a memory for life”.
Telugu actor Allu Arjun won the Best Actor Award for his portrayal of Pushpa Raj in Pushpa: The Rise. The Tollywood star penned a heartfelt note along with a few pictures of Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon and Waheeda Rehman. He wrote on the photo-sharing app, “What a lovely lady … wishing her more in this journey… and hopefully a movie together soon”.
Aside from them, Pankaj Tripathi also received the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in the film Mimi.
Additionally, R Madhavan’s directorial project Rocketry: The Nambi Effect bagged the Best Feature Film. For the unversed, this was R Madhavan’s primary venture as a director. Apart from directing the project, he also played the protagonist in the movie.
Yesteryear, veteran and legendary actress Waheeda Rehman was also honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for outstanding contribution to Indian cinema by President Murmu.
