With the value of collectible Porsches continuing to soar, an owner of some of the most iconic models is set to part ways with an enormous stash of historic motors – but there’s one big catch potential buyers need to be aware of.
Almost the entire haul of vehicles is painted in brilliant shades of white, making this one of the most difficult collections to keep clean across the planet.
It’s also one of the most expensive, with the estimated total sale value of the 60 vehicles up for grabs ringing in at almost $36million or £30million
Auction house RM Sotheby’s will offer each Porsche from ‘The White Collection’ to the highest bidder at a US sale in December – and we have highlighted some of the most desirable examples below, all expected to sell for over $1million dollars a piece.
The White Collection: The owner of this incredible stash of pearly Porsches is set to part ways with a host of the cars in a single auction hosted at the start of December
The hoard of Porsches is set to go under the hammer on 1 to 2 December 2023.
Sotheby’s says it ‘represents over a decade of dedicated collecting by one perfection-focused owner’ – and one with a penchant for white paint, it appears.
If all the Porsches make their higher estimate sale prices, the total car collection will make the keeper a healthy $35,805,000 – which is almost £30million.
Like radio and TV star Chris Evan’s famous garage of Ferraris, this haul of Porsches is almost exclusively painted white – though the number of models dwarfs that of the British DJ’s collection.
In total, it boasts 63 motor vehicle lots, with 56 Porsche sports cars at the forefront.
Supplementing these are two classic Porsche tractors and other notable automotive gems.

These are only some of the vehicles that have made up The White Collection through the years, all of which have been amassed by a single owner who even employs a dedicated caretaker to manage and maintain the fleet.
And the cars up for grabs are just a selection of the stockpile, which also includes an ultra-rate 959 (also in white) that is being retained rather than offered to the highest bidder.
The auction will take place in The White Collection’s ‘undisclosed venue’ in North America.
RM Sotheby’s says it can only be described as a ‘Porsche sanctuary’ that’s bright, expansive, and meticulously curated to be a ‘direct reflection of the pristine collection it holds’.

‘To truly comprehend this collection’s depth, one has to understand the secondary Porsche market,’ explains Gord Duff, the global head of auctions at RM Sotheby’s.
‘Paint-to-sample supercars and classic sports cars in original condition have seen their values skyrocket, a consistent pattern in our sales.
‘These vehicles, which show high originality and remarkably low mileage, are among the most sought-after Porsche sports cars in the current market.
‘With the global demand for Porsche and the unique chance to buy these cars, The White Collection promises to be another unparalleled event for RM Sotheby’s.’
Of the 56 white Porsche sportscars, the crown jewel is a breathtaking and entirely unique rendition of the German giant’s hybrid hypercar, the 918 Spyder.
It has a pre-sale estimate of $2.5m to $3m, which at today’s exchange rates works out at around £2.1m to £2.5m.
Delivered new to The White Collection via Porsche of North Houston in 2015, it indicates just 12 miles at time of cataloguing.
Finished in paint-to-sample Grand Prix White with colour-matched magnesium wheels, over ‘Yachting Blue’ leather and ‘Bianco Leda’ piping, it was custom-specified by the consignor with over $96,000 of bespoke tailoring from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, as well as the desirable Weissach performance package.
An extensive assortment of original 918 accessories accompanies the car, and it is the only 918 Spyder ever produced with this incredible specification.

Having only been rediscovered and added to the collection in 2015, it currently shows just 43 miles on the clock from new, retains its original tires and numbers-matching engine and gearbox.
