Prime Video’s latest gruesome superhero saga, Gen V, has achieved a rare perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The American R-Rated show is a spin-off of the much-loved superhero series The Boys, and follows a young group of ‘supes’ as they navigate Godolkin University, and has been likened to a ‘blood-spattered’ Hogwarts by The Telegraph.
The impressive score for the Amazon series, which comes with a series of stellar reviews, beats the show’s popular predecessor, The Boys, on the Rotten Tomato’s scale by 7 per cent.
The 100-per cent rating is a rare feat. Currently, 35 critics have shared their thoughts on the show, and there’s not one negative word in sight.
While the fourth season of The Boys has been delayed due to the writers’ strike, Gen V will be available to viewers in a staggered release from tomorrow.

For those acquainted with The Boys universe, Godolkin University was the training ground for a string of familiar faces, including Queen Maeve, The Deep, and A-Train.
Gen V follows a new generation of ‘supes’ follows the likes of Marie Moreau, an 18-year-old with the ability to control and weaponize her own blood and Emma Meyer, also known as ‘Little Cricket ‘, given her ability to get super small.
Marie and Emma become roommates in their freshman year and the series witnesses the pair navigating a series of mysterious troubles on campus.
The show simultaneously critiques society, with mentions of Johnny Depp, while exploring serious issues such as date rape and racism.
The storyline has proved to be a big win for executive producers Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg, who have remarkably managed to only receive positive reviews thus far.
Ed Powell from The Telegraph described the ‘Hogwarts for “supes”‘ show as ‘shockingly smart’, and a much stronger contender compared to the ‘dire’ superheroes in the Marvel universe.
Critic Ross McIndoe launched the outstanding reviews, he wrote: ‘The series serves up a raucous blend of humour, action, and emotional storytelling.’
Top critic John Anderson of the Wall Street Journal said: ‘Gen V,’ which is quite ridiculous… can’t really be dismissed. Why? Because it is enough of a social critique, however fuzzy and smart-alecky, to hint at intelligence behind the sensationalism.
